What is Kraken?
Kraken is Haivision’s software-based video encoding, transcoding, and transport solution that aggregates feeds and optimizes the transport of live full-motion video with embedded metadata for Defense and Commercial ISR organizations.
Unlike other solutions in this space, Kraken delivers the highest quality video even when deployed in environments where network bandwidth is limited or unpredictable. Kraken optimizes video quality by taking advantage of the latest video compression standards and metadata filtering to tune streams for a target network capacity, while assuring compatibility with downstream processing, exploitation, and dissemination systems, including those utilizing legacy devices.

With this collection of features, Kraken users can see stream quality and operational status at a glance. This allows operators to proactively identify and address potential issues before they disrupt a mission.
Same Mission, New UI
Usability directly impacts the efficiency of any software – especially in mission-critical scenarios. In this latest update, Haivision completely revamped Kraken with Haivision’s new user interface. This means a cleaner, more intuitive experience that makes managing video processing a breeze for users. Plus, the user experience aligns with the look and feel of other Haivision products, which leads to a seamless transition between Haivision solutions.
For existing Kraken users (releases 3.10.1, 3.10, 3.9, and 3.8) with active support can upgrade to version 4.0 right away through the Haivision Support Portal.
